It is based on survey data covering the period from the 1970s to 2003 but focusing especially on the European Values Study (EVS) as fielded in the two parts of Ireland and in 31 other European societies in 1999-2000. Areas covered in the study include religion, identify, constitutional preferences, family and sexual morality the left-right divide, materialism and postmaterialism, social capital, and attitudes to political institutions and the political system.
